What I Built

If your liberal

and in PA's 7th district, you might want to vote for this guy. I heard him on Air America Radio last night, which was a repeat. He had a really interesting position on the war and he was very articulate. He talked about how a timetable for withdrawl would encourage Iraqis to "stand up" as the Republicans say. He also talked about how reconstruction should be turned over to Iraqi firms to a)provide jobs for Iraqis and b) stop subsidizing large American corporations.

The 7th district doesn't include much of Montgomery County. But if you're not in his district, I suppose a campaign contribution or other form of support would be nice.

Do I dare?

Do I dare bring up sleep apnea again? You bet! Especially since I get to learn the didgeridoo.

Not sure which Kris would find more annoying, the snoring or the didgeridoo.

save marriage from me

representative boyd from lancaster (a republican of course) is drafting an amendment to the state's constitution that he has kindly dubbed the "pennsylvania marriage protection amendment" (which translates roughly into the "pennsylvania save us from the fucking queers amendment.")

in other states amendments like these have not just made it impossible for queer people to protect their relationships, they've also done lovely things like make it impossible for ANY unmarried people in ohio to seek protection from domestic violence. the amendment in virginia is interfering, to quote an email i recieved yesterday from the center for civil rights, with "the rights of all Virginians to create wills, medical directives, powers of attorney, child custody and property arrangements, and even joint bank accounts."

tell your representatives to stuff this amendment where the sun don't shine.

Who in the Family Read this Report

White House Report

Has anyone else besides me read the Victory in Iraq report?
If so what did you think about it.

I found most of it to be the same old rhetoric. It is interesting that three out of the four so called enemy groups in Iraq need to be marginalized (eliminated, killed) for us to win

Leave the hate to the fundies

Following up on my post on a Christian media bias, it looks like the course at KU has been cancelled because the professor made some derogatory remarks about Christian fundamentalists.
Mirecki recently sent an e-mail to members of a student organization in which he referred to religious conservatives as "fundies" and said a course depicting intelligent design as mythology would be a "nice slap in their big fat face."

Man those are some pretty harsh words. On behalf of the liberal elite everywhere, let me apologize. We shouldn't have stepped on the fundies' toes like that. They obviously have the corner on the hate market.
Christians play the damned martyr card so well.
